If you’ve noticed Claude feeling more generous in the evenings lately, that’s not a glitch. Since March 13, Anthropic is doubling usage limits for all Claude plans — during off-peak hours.
How It Works
The rules are surprisingly simple. Between 8 AM and 2 PM Eastern Time, nothing changes. Your normal 5-hour rolling limit stays the same. But outside that window — evenings, nights, and early mornings — your limit automatically doubles.
This applies to Free, Pro, Max, and Team plans alike. And it works everywhere: web, desktop, mobile, Claude Code, and even Claude in Excel.
No Catch
No promo code, no sign-up, no hidden conditions. The promotion runs until March 27, and according to Anthropic, this is genuinely additional capacity — not a reshuffling of existing limits.
What’s Behind It
The official explanation: Anthropic wants to better utilize off-peak infrastructure capacity. The unofficial read: after the outages in early March and the explosive user growth from the Pentagon controversy, this is a clever way to shift users toward quieter hours — while building goodwill at the same time.
Either way, if you’re a heavy Claude user, the next two weeks are a good time to lean into those evening sessions.
