The short version
clauding.de sets no cookies and loads no tracking scripts. There are no user accounts and no comments. Personal data is processed in only two places: technically, when the site is delivered (the host's server logs), and voluntarily, if you sign up for the newsletter.
Hosting and server logs
The site is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. When you access it, Vercel processes technically necessary data: IP address, time, requested URL, browser and operating system, referring page. These logs serve to deliver the site, analyze errors, and fend off attacks, and Vercel deletes them after a short time. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure operation). Vercel also processes data in the United States, on the basis of the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and Vercel's certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Cookie-free audience measurement
To measure visitor numbers, the site uses Vercel Web Analytics. The service sets no cookies and stores no IP addresses. A hash is derived from the IP address and browser signature that is valid only for the current day and does not allow recognition across days. It records pages viewed, referring page, country, device type, and browser. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in understanding which content is read). Google Analytics has not been used since September 11, 2026.
Newsletter
If you sign up for the newsletter, we process your email address, the time of sign-up and confirmation, and the IP address used. Sign-up uses double opt-in: you receive an email with a confirmation link, and only after you click it are you subscribed. This ensures nobody can subscribe someone else's address. The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.
We use Brevo, a service of Sendinblue SAS, 7 rue de Madrid, 75008 Paris, France, to send the newsletter and manage the list. Brevo processes the data in the EU on our behalf under a data processing agreement. Sign-up happens through a plain form; no Brevo scripts or cookies are loaded on this site.
You can withdraw your consent at any time via the unsubscribe link in every email or by writing to the address above. After you unsubscribe, your address is deleted from the list. Until regular sending begins, the list serves only to gauge interest; you will receive at most the confirmation email and, once it starts, the newsletter itself.
External links
Articles link to sources at other providers. When you follow such a link, that site's privacy policy applies. No data is transferred to linked providers from this site before you click.
Your rights
You have the right to access the data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR), to rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). You can withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. Contact the email address above for any of these.
You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the one responsible for the controller: Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz Niedersachsen, Prinzenstraße 5, 30159 Hannover, Germany.
Changes
This policy is updated when the site or the legal situation changes. The date above shows the current version.
