On first run a setup skill builds each seller their own artifact, shaped around their book of business. 7,000 Salesforce sellers are already on it.

In August, Salesforce announced this thing as Claudeforce, with pilot customers and an open beta promised «for September». It arrived yesterday under a new name: Salesforce in Claude, in beta, on every paid Claude plan.

What the 37 skills do

The plugin pulls a seller’s accounts, opportunities and pipeline into Claude, under that seller’s existing Salesforce permissions. Two connectors come with it: Salesforce reads and writes records, Slack reads and writes in deal channels and account-team threads.

Anthropic names four core flows:

  • The morning brief. Today’s meetings, deals closing soon, at-risk opportunities, unread threads. It runs in the background, and from the brief you can push a close date or change a stage. On Friday it wraps the week and drafts the update to your manager.
  • Call prep. Claude assembles what sits in Salesforce, Slack and email. If it finds people in those threads who aren’t in the CRM yet, it adds them as contacts.
  • Deal review. Claude scores an opportunity against the team’s methodology, names qualification gaps and stakeholders nobody has met, and on request drafts the business case and a dated close plan.
  • Pipeline view. An interactive dashboard with coverage by stage and the deals most likely to slip. Shareable with leadership.

On first run, a setup skill identifies the tools and connectors already in place and builds an artifact from them, shaped around the seller’s role and book of business.

Salesforce stays the system of record

Sign-in goes through Salesforce credentials, and Claude reads only what those permissions allow. By default every proposed change goes back to the seller for approval before it is written. On Team and Enterprise plans, Anthropic doesn’t train on that data. Admins connect Salesforce once for the org and pick which groups get the plugin; access runs through Salesforce’s AgentExchange.

Who is already using it

GitLab, Siemens and Legora have rolled it out, plus 7,000 sellers inside Salesforce itself. Legora CFO David Eckstein says his people turn live data into meeting briefings «in seconds instead of hours».

The same day, Anthropic published a guide for revenue organizations, with two numbers in it more concrete than most of that genre: Cox Communications reports a 7x return in year one and an 86% cut in the cost of enriching leads, with accuracy moving from 18% to 97%. At Cyera, 88% of roughly 1,500 employees use Claude weekly.

The direction of writing is the new part

An assistant that summarizes CRM data has been table stakes for two years. The interesting direction is the other one: Claude creating contacts, filling qualification fields, moving close dates, logging calls. That puts Claude in charge of CRM data quality, not just of prep work.

Which is also where the risk sits. A seller who skims every brief and waves it through will fill Salesforce with guesses faster than they used to fill it with gaps. Per-change approval isn’t paperwork here. It is the mechanism.
